With the help of generous benefactors and partner institutions, PJPS gives scholarships to children of inmates ranging from grade school, high school and  technical and/or vocational students (assistance for college level is given on a case to case basis). We provide the following:

  • Tuition (Full or Partial)
  • Non-Tuition Expenses (Fees, Uniform, etc.)
    • School Supplies, Tools, Equipment, and the like
    • Allowances: Transportation, Meals, and Snacks
    • Others:
      • Tutorial Services
      • Counseling/Monitoring Services
      • Facilitation in Obtaining School Discounts, etc.

Since its onset  in 1994, sixty (60) beneficiaries have already graduated from various courses in technical/vocational courses and college.  Most of them were accepted as scholars as early as grade school and they remained in the program until the completion of their tertiary education.  This remains the case today for many of our scholars.

For the Academic School Year 2011-12, PJPS has accepted a total of one hundred twenty (120) scholars. We count on the support of generous individuals who share in our vision of rebuilding the lives of the families of inmates. Together with the help of many young professionals who volunteer to give monthly formation sessions for the scholars and their mothers, we hope to see these underprivileged and deserving children of inmates grow through the years as they transcend their life situation and pursue a respectable career after college.

PJPS Foundation, Inc.

  • The Philippine Jesuit Prison Service Foundation, Inc. (PJPS) is a non-stock, non-profit organization that advocates for a more humane approach to the rehabilitation of incarcerated individuals and their families.  It is one of the official socio-pastoral apostolate of the Society of Jesus in the Philippines.  Since its onset in 1994, PJPS has been responding to the needs of prisoners through its various programs and services.
  • Our flagship project is a scholarship program for children of inmates. Through the years, PJPS has helped these children cope with the harsh reality of having an incarcerated father through education. We are able to do this through the support of friends and benefactors who generously responded to the call of the Lord: "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."

Giving to PJPS...

Through the years, PJPS has developed a strong track record as a competent and effective agent in promoting a holistic prison ministry. We are able to do this only through the support of friends and benefactors who generously responded to the call of the Lord. In this regard, we would like to seek your support for us to be able to continue this good work. Your financial assistance will greatly help us in providing care for this marginalized portion of God’s people.
